As a life-long fan of the Great American Pasttime, itīs been a thrill
to see the sport blast back into the spotlight and draw people, young and old, to the ballpark for the first time... or the thousanth time, for a few hours of pure, down-to-earth, fun.
These pages are my tribute to the game, and especially to those players
and teams that have drawn me to the park, or the television, or the radio, and for a few moments at least, chased all my other cares away.
