Final Project Information
Using the information you gathered about computer parts in some of your assignments, and through new research, build a computer that meets your specific needs. You will hand in a typed document that includes the details of each component and your explanation of why that component was chosen. Components should include:

-- CPU
-- RAM
-- Motherboard
-- Case and Power Supply
-- Video Card
-- Sound Card
-- Keyboard and Mouse
-- Monitor
-- Any other I/O cards you think you need (such as Network cards, modem, etc.)
-- Operating System
-- Application Software
-- Any other components or peripheral devices you'd like to add on.

NOTE: Since we are forgoing having you take a final exam, and this will be your last project, I want you to build this machine entirely from scratch yourself. This means you should pick your components from from some of the online hardware vendors rather than just build a machine at Dell or Gateway.

For Wed, March 28st
-- Read book chapter 8 and 9 on hard drives.

For Wed, March 21st
-- Do Lab Project 6.1 in the Lab Manual. To do this project, you'll want to download and run the CPUz program (from the Download area) that we saw and talked about in class. As an online resource, use either www.crucial.com or www.kingston.com.

-- Read book Chapter 7.

For Wed, February 28th
-- Review book chapter 5, especially the last section on building a computer.

-- CPU and Motherboard Research Project. - A handout was provided in class. Click Here to download a copy of that handout.
